About Remove PDF Links Only
PDF links are usually stored as link annotations. They can point to websites, email addresses, file paths, or internal document destinations. Removing only link annotations is useful when you want a shared PDF to remain readable but no longer contain clickable external destinations.
This tool keeps the scope narrow: it removes PDF annotations whose subtype is Link and leaves other comments, highlights, form widgets, and visible page content alone when possible. Visible URL text can still remain on the page because it is part of the PDF content, not the clickable annotation.
For broader cleanup, use Remove PDF Annotations. For a pre-share review of links, scripts, metadata, and attachments, start with the PDF Privacy Inspector.
