About PDF Privacy Inspector

PDF privacy issues are often invisible in the normal page view. A file can look clean while still carrying title, author, creator software, creation dates, form fields, links, attachments, annotations, or active-content markers. The PDF Privacy Inspector turns those hidden signals into a local report before you share the document.

The inspector is intentionally report-only. It does not claim to perform forensic sanitization or silently rewrite the file. Instead, it shows common metadata fields and raw PDF markers such as JavaScript, OpenAction, Launch, EmbeddedFiles, URI, Annots, Metadata, and XMP so you can decide what needs attention.

Everything runs in your browser. The PDF and inspection result are not uploaded. For everyday cleanup, start with Remove PDF Metadata, then use Flatten PDF for editable forms or Encrypt PDF when the file needs password protection.

If the file is going into a portal or application form, finish with the PDF Upload Ready Checker to catch size limits, mixed page sizes, and submission compatibility issues.
