About Remove PDF Annotations
PDF annotations are extra objects layered on top of the original page content. They can include comments, highlights, sticky notes, drawing markup, link boxes, and review notes. Removing them is useful before sharing a final copy of a contract, report, resume, or client document.
This tool removes common non-widget annotations while keeping form widget annotations in place. That reduces the chance of breaking fillable forms. If you want to lock form field values into fixed content, use Flatten PDF first or after cleanup depending on your workflow.
Annotation cleanup is different from metadata cleanup. For stronger sharing preparation, combine this tool with Remove PDF Metadata and the PDF Privacy Inspector.
